Consider how God tested Abraham’s faith in the book of Genesis. God miraculously gave Abraham a son, named Isaac, in his old age. This was a fulfillment of God’s promise.

To test Abraham’s faith, God asked him to sacrifice Isaac.

“Then God said, ‘Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”

Genesis 22:2

This was an unusual request from God, the sacrifice of another person. Abraham was faced with a test of obedience. Of course, Abraham didn’t have to sacrifice his son. God provided a ram instead, but Abraham’s obedience — his willingness to step out and trust God to provide for him — was honored by God and proved Abraham’s worthiness to be the father of many nations.

Abraham was given a difficult test by being asked to sacrifice his son. Hebrews 11:19 says, “He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead, from which, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back.” He reasoned or thought long about the almightiness and goodness of God. In doing so he saw countless solutions to his problem, including a resurrection. If we ever come to a place in life where giving seems hard, we should remember Abraham’s example of reflecting on who our God is.

CAMPAIGN UPDATE

Where We’re At

We are currently in the early phases of saving up to build. We have currently raised $38,409. Based on how quickly and consistently the pledged amounts come in, we can develop an accurate timeline for construction. In order to break ground on our playground, we need to have raised at least $100,000. In the meantime, we are meeting with General Contractors to clarify any questions and will soon meet with Engineers and City Planners.

HOw to Start Giving

Our ability to break ground on these projects depends on what available funding we have. To set-up your Foundations Campaign giving, click the button below. You will be able to choose “recurring donations” and select how often you would like to give.

Over the course of the campaign, you will receive quarterly emails with progress reports on where you are at with your giving and how close you are to reaching your pledge goal.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for the General Contractor, Engineers, City Planners, and Architects to finalize the North West addition plan. Pray for the original bid amounts to stay on budget and that we would have the funds to be able to start these projects in the fall.
