Youth Group in Lincoln, NE
This has been an incredible year for Sower’s youth group, and even more exciting things are ahead! I, Devin Woods, had the honor of becoming Sower’s first official Youth Coordinator, and over the past year, I’ve witnessed just how much students can grow in a short time. From deepening their faith to developing hearts for service, I’ve seen God move in powerful ways. One of my biggest hopes was for our community to grow, and I’m grateful to say we’ve seen that happen!
A big shift this year was dividing into separate High School and Junior High groups. With differing maturity levels, this structure allows us to better meet the unique needs of each age group. At the same time, we still come together for fun events and service opportunities, strengthening our bond as one family.
Looking ahead, I’ve been praying and discussing new ways to help Sower Youth become the best youth group it can be. For the past year, we’ve met every other week, but to truly grow in our faith, share our beliefs, and build lasting friendships, we need to meet more frequently. That’s why we’re excited to announce that we’re planning to launch weekly youth group meetings this year!
Additionally, I’ll be starting a monthly high school Bible study for students who want to go deeper in their faith. This will be modeled after our college ministry’s small groups and is set to launch in the summer of 2025.
Both of these changes will help students grow in their relationship with the Lord while fostering the strong, genuine community that so many teens crave. My heart is filled with excitement for what’s ahead and I can’t wait to see how God continues to work in the coming year!

”This has to be the best church youth group near me!" D exclaimed, laughing as he ran up and playfully jumped on his friend’s back—just the kind of greeting you’d expect from an excited 6th grader.
